Luffy's currently moping around in the room, flopped on the floor, groaning pathetically, and curling up next to a sleeping Chimchar. His stomach hurts and he's been coughing all day. In short, he feels pretty awful. This is what he gets for going outside without his jacket so many times. He may be strong for a bratling, but he's not that strong.]

Aipy... make it go away...

[The little purple monkey just... pats his hat. Not much he can do.]

[He shakes his head slowly.] Who's Buggy? [Though it sounds a lot like verbal keysmash since his hands are still there.]

A pirate with a big red nose. After the Battle of Marineford, there was a lot more interest in him, so people started learning a lot more about him. Apparently he sailed with Gold Roger himself, and even Red-haired Shanks.

He started out in the East Blue, probably right near where you're from chibi.

[Eyes wide... totally interested. He moves his hands for a moment.] DOES HE--[Agh hack hack cough. So yelling doesn't work... he actually lowers his voice!] Does he do tricks?!

Well, he has a devil fruit. Something that lets him cut himself in pieces I believe.

He did a show in Loguetown once.

At the time he was going to execute someone in the same place Gold Roger was executed.

Some idiot pirate no one paid any attention to at first. Hell, the first time I saw the idiot pirate, I thought he was just some dumb lost tourist.

At the time of his would-be execution I figured Buggy would just make my job easier and kill off the weakling pirate who was trapped in seastone. But you know what happened then?

The idiot declared that he was going to be the King of the Pirates, right in front of all of those people. In the very town Rogers was born and died, in the very place he was executed.

Everyone thought he had to be crazy. And Buggy got sick of waiting and giving Str-- the pirate time to talk so he brought down the weapon to kill him.

And then the pirate did something really crazy.

What did he do? Then what, then what?

He smiled.

Can you imagine that? Right there when he knew he was going to die, when he said goodbye to his crewmates and everything, he smiled. He didn't think he was going to be saved, he just was proud of himself for getting where he was even. No regrets at all.

I've seen a lot of executions chibi. And until then I only saw one other person smile on the execution stand. Can you guess who?

[Watches carefully to stick that spoon in Luffy's mouth.]

I got to see it myself at his execution when I was 12. [Yeah, he's old.]

I've captured hundreds of pirates bratling, and even more on the Grand Line. And in my entire career, only one's ever gotten away. That one idiot Buggy couldn't kill.

Oh yeah? Well your grandfather cornered Rogers at least a half dozen times.

Well while the would-be Pirate King ran away from me, a storm started so my men's guns couldn't even shoot him -- all the gunpoweder got wet. So instead we threw seastone nets over Buggy and Alvida while I chased down the Next Pirate King on my motorcycle.

But he didn't catch him, right? Because Roger still became the Pirate King!
