[And the PokeGear turns on to Luffy groaning. He's looking kind of grumbly and sleepy, but the Aipom's stolen his device again.]

Stupid Aipy, give it back!

[The pokémon, offscreen, snickers at him.]

GIVE IT BACK! [And a groan and he holds his stomach. He's covered in sugar, which he's been eating nonstop until most of it's gone. The Aipom does not want to let go though, and just hops back; Luffy's distanced from it, and appears a bit smaller on screen. And in a few seconds, the view goes up, up, up! into a tree.

Luffy grumbles and fishes a pokéball from his pocket.]

Marimo, come out!

[Psch! And it's out. The poor Metapod has no idea what's going on. He just sits there, using harden to defend himself...

Because Luffy's just picked it up...

And thrown it at his own Aipom.

The camera shakes and falls rapidly, screen going black halfway before just turning off. Oops.]

[Except for the part where he does care and brings Luffy a water-bottle, some stomach meds and wet face cloth.]

Here. Take it. You'll feel better. [SIGH.] You're kind of an idiot, you know that?

HE DOESN'T WANNA EAT ME!

[Except he probably does. Luffy just grumbles and hugs his stomach until Smoker brings over the medication. He points at it.]

I ate more than that at the buffet and I didn't get sick.

[Sadly, Smoker is actually going to try to make him think because Smoker is weird and thinks Luffy is craftier than he is.]

Right, so what's different between this time and at the buffet?

Birdseeds.

[And more grumbling. He starts gnawing on the cloth, since he's not really sure what to do with the meds.]

[Smoker just stares at the cloth gnawing. Luffy has no concept of cleanliness. But he opens up the bottle and take out pill and tosses it in Luffy's mouth.] Swallow.

So maybe the lesson is don't eat so much of this type of food. If you're smart, you'll get why.

[Oh. Pill in mouth now. He swallows and cringes; it touched his tongue, eeew.] Was that chalk?

[Oh. Lecture. He half tunes it out, like everything Gramps says. God, you marines are boring. Always teaching life lessons and shit nobody cares about.]

No more birdseeds? Or just a little?

[Because it's not the sugar.]

[Eh whatever. Smoker's aware Garp sets records on donut-eating. They can handle inhuman amounts he figures.]

[Victory for the D team!

But Luffy yawns loudly and gets up to grab Marimo, which is still using harden like it'll do something interesting. He's not sleepy, nope.]

[Uses the wash cloth to wipe off some of the stickyness from Luffy's face.]

So what now bratling?

[He'll sit still for it, even though he makes a face. He really needs a bath though, there's too much sugar.]

Uh... I gotta put Aipy back in his pokéball. And then, um.... go find a beetle!

[Too bad Smoker would probably rather off himself than be forced to strip Luffy and give him a bath. Do not want.]

A beetle?

[Just hose him off with his clothes on. Those need washing too. Or make Sanji do it.]

Uh-huh! Cuz... I like beetles. [And he's trying to fight off imminent naptime. So he just gets up and starts looking for a beetle.]

[He probably will. Too bad his Gyarados doesn't know any water moves yet.]

Right. I never would have guessed. [Extremely sarcastic and eyeroll.] And where do you plan to find these beetles?

[Get to teaching, Smokey!]

Under rocks and on trees and stuff.

[So he goes towards a rock and pushes it over. And then by a tree, and just... leans on it. He doesn't want to look anymore.]

[It'd have to be 35 for Aqua tail and that would probably sting a lot >>]

That's all you've got? [Wow. Weak Straw-Hat.]

[Yeaaahhhh, that might not be kid-friendly. You might just need a hose or a squirtle for now.]

Not weak... [He pushes himself from the tree and walks around it, looking for anything bug-like. Besides the one weedle he walks over, nothing.

So he comes back to Smoker and leans on his legs.]

[If he finds a squirtle he'll get it; just to wash Luffy.]

Just sick? [Desperately resists the urge to pick Straw-Hat up and try to make it better.]

[And then can they ride on its shell?]

Not sick... I'm not gonna get sick either! [Except he groans again. He shoves himself back and goes beetle hunting again. Which is really just him walking back and forth like a failboat.]

[:O Totally. The squirtle would clearly love Luffy more than Smoker.]

[Watches Luffy's failboating just with his eyes in bemusement.]

Straw-Hat, didn't your Grandfather teach you anything besides how to get punched?

[That's because Squirtle secretly wants to be a pirate.]

Uh-huh. He used to throw us in the forest a lot so I learned how to eat frogs and hunt stuff! [And he sounds energetic for a grand total of fifteen seconds before going back to being tired again.] But I can't eat the pokémon here so...

[And because it finds hats stylish.]

Well, I guess it's better than tea parties. Sit. You can have more food when Pervert-Prince finishes cooking and the meds kick in.

[Luffy just needs some shades and that pokémon is his.]

Don't wanna sit. [He doesn't wanna eat either, but like hell he'll actually turn it down. He just keeps roaming around Smoker in a circle, looking for beetles.]

[And Smoker will feel amazingly betrayed. He should get one. Or a totodile he can name "Sandy" after Crocodile and confuse... the world.]

Fine. I'm sure the exercise is good for you. [Scratches his chin.] Try the trees. All the bugs here seem to be ridiculously oversized anyway.
